Paradise is different for each person. To me, paradise is a place where you have no worries, everything is beautiful, and you can just relax and live happily ever after. Colors are more colorful. Beauty is more beautiful. Love is even more lovely. Is there really such a place? The closest that I have come to this idyllic existence has been here in…Continue

Guest post of the week by Brittany Booker
We had to move our office to a new part of town that we were not familiar with since rent was too high at our old building. We started to look up Business Electricity rates in Texas to figure out the best provider for our new office. It seemed like a good idea to shop around for utilities since we were moving to save money. Of course, none of the employees really understood why we had to move the location. For the weeks leading up to the move,…Continue

Living in Hawaii does have its perks. The red carpet was rolled out across the sand at the premiere of Season Two of Hawaii Five-O. This event took place last Saturday in Waikiki. Thousands of fans were on location to meet with their favorite stars from the series, including Scott Caan, Alex O'Loughlin, Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim.
I was excited to find out that Terry O'Quinn, who…

When we lived in Tonga, I was delighted to discover the juggling talents of the women. It is not taught to the boys, but I know some males who can juggle too, including my husband.
In elementary school, instead of learning to jump rope, play jacks or hopscotch, the primary students in Tonga learn how to hiko or…Continue

It is well known that laughter is good for your health. There is enough bad news going around, that I feel it is time for a breather. It took me a few years of living in Hawaii to be introduced to a couple of really funny guys, known as The Laughing Samoans.

Two weeks ago I traveled with my husband and my father to meet up with my brother and his wife on the Big Island of Hawaii.
I have been there a few times before, but this time was different since so much of my own family was there.
I love the Big Island because it so diverse.

Living in Hawaii, I am often amazed at the number of talented people that made their start here. You can check out some of my other hubs to see more of them. One of the most recent international stars had his beginning in Honolulu, Hawaii. He recently returned to Maui for a performance during the holidays. He even wore an aloha shirt.

The stars played an important role in ancient ocean navigation. Stargazing is almost becoming a lost art in the Pacific.Fortunately the non-profit organization, the Hawaiian Astronomical Society, The Polynesian Voyaging Society, as well as other individuals are inspiring many locals to study the stars again.
